Miracle Offering

When it comes to unlocking miraculous provision we believe that God wants us to go straight to His Word to understand how this works and there are 2 examples in the New Testament that God has directed us to, which provide a pattern or framework for this - one being the story of the feeding of the five thousand and the other being the story of the feeding of the four thousand.

 

In both these stories there is a need that based on time and circumstances cannot naturally be met, it is a seemingly impossible situation. There is an overwhelming supply of food that is needed and although the disciples don’t have the supply what they do have in both stories is a seed, a seemingly insignificant seed compared to what is needed. The Bible gives us the figures of five thousand and four thousand but it also tells us that these refer only to the men besides the women and children who were there.

 

Some scholars believe that there could have been as much as 15 to 20 thousand people in the first story (the feeding of the five thousand) and 12 to 16 thousand people in the second story (the feeding of the four thousand). In the story of the feeding of the five thousand all the disciples have is what a young boy has given them which is 5 loaves and 2 fish and in the story of the feeding of the four thousand all they have is 7 loaves and a few small fish.

 

In both stories, although they don’t have the supply what they do have is a seed, a seed of bread and fish. And when that is sown, when that is placed into the hands of Jesus we see that a harvest of bread and fish is reaped. Jesus supernaturally multiplies what they give Him and there is even an abundance that is left over. You see every seed produces after its own kind. This is a law that God has instituted from creation and we also understand that the harvest will always be bigger than the seed. If you want a harvest of apples you have to sow apple seeds, if you want a harvest of pears you have to sow pear seeds, you can’t sow pear seeds and expect a harvest of apples. In the same way if we want to reap a financial harvest we have to sow a financial seed. “Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

 

The question to ask yourself is what do you have in your hand? Very often we are waiting for the supply, but God is waiting for the seed. God is waiting for something to work with and little can become much when we place it in His hand.

 

We want you to ask God to show you what you have in your hand, what is the seed that He wants you to sow? And then you can either give it electronically which is the preferable method using the Banking Details which can be found below or you can bring it on Sunday when we will be taking up a special “Heart for the House” Miracle Offering.

 

We ask you not to redirect your tithe to this miracle offering. Your tithe is what belongs to God, so don’t rob God of what belongs to Him. An offering is anything above your tithe, it’s sacrificial, it has to cost you something. Now many of you are trusting God for provision to acquire certain things and the gap between what you have in your hand and what you actually need seems impossible to bridge. This is our challenge to you: If what you have cannot meet the need then give it to God and use it as a seed. What we need to realize is that we serve a God of multiplication. What can feed only me in my hands can feed a multitude in His hands. When we look at our lives, when we look at our needs do we focus on our limited resources or are we focused on our unlimited God, a God who can multiply the little that we have and make it much.

 

Remember God can only multiply what we give Him. Craig Groeschel says : “What you keep is all you have, what you give, God multiplies”.
